Chocolate Mike: "Now this is the life. After a 3 hour delay at SeaTac and a 9 hour flight we arrived at Heathrow. Jumped on the Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station and then a cab to our hotel, The Thistle Kinglsey on Bloomsbury Way. It's a block away from the British Museum. Mary took us to Pizza Express, right around the corner, for our evening meal. Seems she has had a thing for this Venice pizza ever since she was a teenager and likes to eat at this chain whenever possible. The Italian beer wasn't bad either. No pictures of humans were taken at this stage of jet lag."After lunch with a friend in London on Tuesday we were off to Oxford to pick up my niece Casey. Dinosaurs not welcome in Oxford because no pictures taken.
Wednesday off to the Georgian town of Bath. Chocolate Mike pictures below in our room at the Dukes Hotel, within walking distance of the city centre.
Chocolate Mike: "Now this is the life. Do we ever have to leave this B&B room?"
View of Great Pulteney Street. Right around the corner at #4 is where Jane Austin lived when she and her family moved to Bath. She liked the nearby park and some of the social life but was apparently too much of a country girl to really enjoy the city.
The Dukes beautiful decorations on the wall really made a dinosaur feel at home.
James and Mary kept emailing the family at home in Moscow with a list of demands that we needed before we came home. First on the list was a heated towel rack installed in our bathrooms. It's the best thing ever.
